Ross County Football Club’s longest standing servant, Donnie MacBean, is standing down from his role as Club Secretary after 30 years in the role.
MacBean, who has been involved with the club for nearly half a century, will be replaced by his daughter, Fiona (MacBean), with immediate effect, though he will remain as Honorary Secretary for a short period to oversee the transition.
As part of the changes Susan Wilson takes responsibility for Football Administration at the club.
“Having been involved with Ross County for 49 years, 30 of them as Football Secretary, I felt it was time the club put in place a structure to follow on from me,” said MacBean (Donnie).
“I will remain as Honorary Secretary for a short time to support Fiona as she takes over the role of Secretary and to assist Susan Wilson in her new role as Football Administrator,” added MacBean. “I will also continue in my Club Ambassador role.”
Speaking about stepping into her father’s shoes, Fiona MacBean said, “This season will be my Dad's 50th with Ross County Football Club and I have grown up in and around the Club so it is an honour to be asked to take on this important role.
“It feels like the natural and right thing to do to follow in Dad’s footsteps,” added MacBean (Fiona).
