Burton Albion of the English Championship have today completed the signing of Ross County Football Club's Australian midfielder Jackson Irvine for an undisclosed fee.
Speaking about the transfer, Ross County manager, Jim McIntyre, said: "After refusing a number of bids from Burton Albion they submitted a bid which met Jackson's release clause and he has subsequently agreed terms to join the Championship club.
"We reluctantly see Jackson head south," added McIntyre. "But at the same time we wish him all the very best in what will be a great opportunity for him personally. Jackson was a key part of the Ross County squad which made history last season by winning the League Cup and finishing in the top six.
"He is a great character and is very popular around the training ground and with the fans so he will be missed. But we all wish him well on this next stage of his career which I'm sure will be a great success."
