The club are delighted to announce following our victory in yesterday’s final that players and management will parade the League cup this Saturday on an open top bus after the local Derby against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The parade will commence outside the stadium at 5.15 pm and will travel through Ferry Road, Station Road, Greenhill Street and then entering the Pedestrian Precinct at the Traffic Lights at the top of the High Street and returning to the Football Ground. Many of those attending will have attended the match and have cars parked at the stadium or in the town. It would help, where possible, if they could leave cars parked until after the parade has ended to reduce traffic movement.
Safety arrangements will be out in place outside the Stadium and at various points along the route. Supporters and well-wishers are asked to give themselves time to get to any vantage point on the route and to listen to safety and security advice from Police and Stewards on the day.
David O’Connor commented “ There was a real buzz in the town last Saturday as the team were piped through the High Street on their way to Hampden with a large crown turning out. The messages of congratulations have been overwhelming since yesterday’s victory over Hibernian and the procession on Saturday evening will allow all sections of our support and the community to join in the celebrations. The event follows our local derby against Inverness and there will be a lot of people around the stadium to show support for the Staggies. There will be many photo opportunities but safety will be a priority and well-wishers are asked to consider their safety and that of others on the night”.
