LOAN WATCH First Silverware of season for young Staggie

Tom Kelly picked up the first silverware of the season as he and his loan club Brora Rangers conquered the North of Scotland Cup. After taking a 1-0 lead the Cattachs found themselves 2-1 down before coming back to beat a strong Caley Thistle team 3-2. James Wallace was unable to play due to being cup-tied having played for the Staggies in the earlier rounds.

Joel MacBeath made it two goals in two games for loan club Montrose. It was also back to back wins for the first time this season for Montrose who managed to leap off bottom spot in Ladbrokes League One.

Ross Munro & Declan McManus both watched from the bench as Munro’s league leading Raith Rovers drew 2-2 at home to McManus’ Falkirk. The result keeps Raith in 1st place and Falkirk in 3rd.

Gregor MacDonald & Jack Grant saw their Keith side lose 4-0 at the hands of Rothes. With MacDonald starting and Grant coming off the bench before the hour it was a difficult test for the young Staggies with their new loan team.

Jack Murray & Declan Hughes faced off against each other as Hughes’ Forres Mechanics travelled to Murray’s Buckie Thistle. With both young Staggies starting the match it was highly entertaining with Buckie having the opportunity to reach the summit of the Highland League. When the final whistle was blown, Buckie would do precisely that, overcoming Forres 3-1 after the Can Can’s went 1-0 just after the hour mark.
