Ross Stewart has been named IRN BRU Cup Golden Balls winner for his man of the match performance in the semi final of the competition as County secured their progress to the March 23, 2019 final. Stewart - who missed out on the award for the quarter finals by a handful of votes - beat off competition from Kenny Van der Weg and Connah's Quay Nomad's Jake Phillips and John Dandy to be voted IRN-BRU Cup Golden Balls player of the round. An online poll saw the striker pick up 37% of the public vote.
Stewart was presented with the award and a bottle of personalised IRN BRU at George Cockburn & Sons butchers in Dingwall. The champion haggis maker is currently stocking IRN BRU flavoured sausages.
On scooping the award the young striker said: "I'm delighted to have been named player of the round. All the boys have been great in the run to the final but obviously it's nice to be recognised. We are all totally focused on lifting the trophy in Inverness later this month. It will be my first final too so that makes it a little bit more special."
The IRN BRU Cup final is to be held at the Caledonian Stadium, Inverness at 4.30pm on March 23, 2019.
