Ross County Football Club is delighted to announce that six new players have joined the Reserve / Under 18 squads on a full-time basis ahead of the 2019-20 season. The six, who have all signed two-year Modern Apprenticeship contracts, include five Academy graduates who have all been in the Academy system for a number of years with one player joining from Queens Park FC after originally spending a couple of seasons at the club up to 2014.
The five Academy graduates are: Jamie Stephen (16), Goalkeeper; Ben Williamson (16), Defender; Harvey Kane (16), Defender; Craig Mackenzie (16), Midfielder; and Adam Mackinnon (16), Midfielder. The other player who has signed a full time Modern Apprenticeship contract is Josh Black (17) who has signed from Queens Park FC.
Head of Professional Academy, Richard Brittain, commented:
"It is testament again to our Academy coaches and staff that we were able to bring in another five players full-time who have all been associated with the club for a number of years now. It keeps up the tradition of recent seasons of offering full-time football to our Academy graduates.
"Coupled with us signing Josh Black - who was in our system a few years ago - it shows that things are being done properly within our Academy and that we are heading in the right direction. Josh will form part of the my Reserve squad and the other five will form part of Liam Fontaine and Don Cowie’s Under 18 squad for the upcoming season in what is going to be a tough but exciting year upon our return to the Scottish Premiership."
