Calling all Staggies! Come and join us before the Motherwell game this Saturday.
Join Staggies Walk for Maggie’s to raise funds for Maggie’s Highlands and earn a free match-day ticket.
Ross County Football Club is calling all staggies to join Staggie’s for Maggie’s, a 5-mile sponsored walk to raise funds for Maggie’s Highlands, the charity which offers free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their family and friends from across the Highlands and Islands.
The Staggie’s Walk for Maggie’s will take place on Saturday 21st November ahead of the Club’s home game against Motherwell, and everyone who takes part in the walk will receive a free match-day ticket.
Jim McIntyre, Manager of Ross County Football Club, joined Andrew Benjamin of Maggie’s Highlands and the Club’s mascot Rossco the Staggie at the Global Energy Stadium today (Thursday 29th October) to launch the fundraising drive.
"Ross County Football Club are delighted to be working with Maggies on a new fundraising event, Staggies Walk for Maggies," said McIntyre. "As someone whose family has been touched by cancer I am also personally proud to be involved with promoting the event and I would urge every one of our fans out there to sign up for it and support this fantastic cause."
Andrew Benjamin, Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie’s Highlands, said: “Everyone at Maggie’s Highlands is delighted that Ross County Football Club has chosen to support Maggie’s. As a charity, we rely entirely on voluntary donations to be able to keep our doors open for people with cancer and their family and friends and to be able to develop the programme of support that we offer. We are hugely grateful for the Club’s support and hope that as many staggies as possible will join the Staggies for Maggie’s walk to help us make the biggest difference possible for people affected by cancer.”
