This afternoon we were drawn away to Partick Thistle in the last 16 of the Betfred Cup. Following Dundee’s 1-0 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle the draw was made live on BT Sport and the Staggies will face a trip to Firhill in their bid to reach the Quarter Final.
On the draw, Co-Manager, Steven Ferguson said, “Its a really good draw for both teams and more importantly for both sets of fans. Last season we had some really good games against Partick and we hope for the same again. Obviously the aim is to try and reach the quarter finals but we know exactly the challenge Partick will give us and it certainly wont be easy.”
“Gary (Caldwell) has assembled a really good team now and their performance in the group stage shows just how strong they are. Having boys like Kenny Miller and co, they have that balance between experience and youth but equally we feel we have a strong enough squad to go down there and get the result to get us in to the quarter finals, and that is coupled with our boys seeing what the success of winning this competition a few years ago meant to this club.”
“At the end of the day in cup games anything can happen and it comes down to who wants it more and who is willing to put it all on the line on the day, we just have to make sure our boys have that in their locker when the match comes around.”
