Success in Portugal for the Young Staggies

Our development squad had a fantastic time in Portugal where they recently attended at training camp at the Brown’s Complex in Vilamoura. The good weather allowed the squad to train up to three times a day and when the boys were not training they have taken advantage of some fantastic cultural activities in and around Vilamoura.

The Young Staggies played two games during their stay with the first one against Portuguese Championship side, Olhanense. The boys were fantastic and finished the game with a 7–0 victory, with goals from Malcolm (2) MacLennan (2) MacIver, Morrison and Moffat.

Their second game, against English side Aldershot Town, saw the boys turn in a top performance in very hot conditions with a 3–0 victory, with goals from Malcolm, MacLaughlan and MacIver. To finish the trip with two victories, having scored 10 and kept two clean sheets, is very pleasing for everyone involved.

As a football club this is the first time we have taken advantage of such an educational trip for our Development Squad players and one that we know that all the players and staff involved will have taken so much from.
