Young Staggies march on

The Ross County Development Squad recorded an historic victory last Sunday when they beat St Mirren to progress to the last four of the Little Big Shot Scottish Youth Cup for the first time. The young Staggies – who returned from a training camp in Vilamoura Portugal, which was the base for the Russian national team in Euro 2004, shortly before the fixture – traveled to the Paisley 2121 Stadium full of confidence. A Darren Moffat goal was the difference between the sides.

Everyone associated with the club would like to take this chance to congratulate Stuart Kettlewell’s young charges on the achievement and we’re sure they are not done in the competition yet! It’s been a good few weeks for the squad, with Greg Morrison making his first team debut at home to Aberdeen a couple of weeks ago.

Ross County’s starting XI was: Foden (GK), Miller, Ross, S. Morrison, McLaughlin, Moffat, MacLennan, Beeston, Malcolm, R. Dingwall and G. Morrison. Subs: Tait (GK), MacIver, Grant, Strachan, Wallace.
