Blair Spittal departs Ross County
17/05/2022
Ross County FC can today confirm that upon expiry of his contract, Blair Spittal will leave the Global Energy Stadium this summer.
Blair has been a tremendous servant for the club since signing in the Summer of 2019 under Steven Ferguson & Stuart Kettlewell. Following the club’s promotion back to the top-flight Blair was one of the first players signed and now leaves with a wealth of good memories from his time in the Highlands.
During his spell in Dingwall, Blair has made 72 appearances for Ross County scoring 12 goals. His final appearance and goal for the club came on the final day of the 2021/22 season against Dundee United, and typically the goal was a sensational strike to end his time with Ross County.
We wish Blair and his family every success going forward.
On Blair’s departure, Manager Malky Mackay said, “Blair has been a top professional for me this season. He has been at the club for 3 years and in each season has contributed considerably to where we stand today.”
“I would like to extend my thanks to Blair for his services on behalf of my coaching staff and the football club and wish him all the very best going forward.”
Blair has made the following statement, “I am really proud to have represented Ross County FC. The club has been very good for me, and I want to thank the Manager and coaching staff, the players, the club staff and the fans for making my time so successful.”
“To play in the Ross County shirt 72 times is special for me and my family and I can’t thank everybody enough as I move on to a new chapter. Finally, to our fans, this year you have been tremendous for the club. That afternoon at Pittodrie is a memory that will always be with me, and we were all there and in it together, achieving the clubs first top 6 finish in 6 years.”
“I wish the club and supporters all very the best.”
