Challenge Poverty Week
18/10/2024
Our Academy have been busy over the last couple of weeks, gathering donations to contribute towards The Poverty Alliance – Challenge Poverty Week.
Academy Manager, Gary Warren said: “As part of Ross County Football Club Academy our boys have been working hard to help with Challenge Poverty Week. It has been great to have been able to provide some support to Challenge Poverty Week and The Poverty Alliance. The world continues to struggle through current rising costs and financial restraints, and we are hoping we can help a little in providing those in need and ease the burden of the continuing issues. When Daniel Crabtree reached out to me about this, as an academy we were determined to make something happen for this initiative. Daniel has done some magnificent work over the years for the organisation. It has been great to continue working alongside him, as I have been doing a lot of work with him on several different fronts that all help the academy.”
Daniel Crabtree added: “In support of The Poverty Alliance Challenge Poverty Week, the University of Aberdeen, Rowett Institute, Food Insecurity in People Living with Obesity (FIO Food) research project has supported a food, toiletries and football kit collection by the Ross County FC Academy. The food and toiletries will be donated to the Highland Food Bank, who operate in partnership with Blythswood Care and the Trussell Trust, to support those living with poverty in the Highlands. The generosity of the local community has been incredible and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the collection. This is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when we work together to fight poverty.
