Keith Watson signs new deal
07/06/2021
Ross County can today announce that Keith Watson has signed a new one-year contract at the Global Energy Stadium.
The defender, who has made 82 appearances for the Staggies to date, secured the deal following impressive displays during season 2020/21, where he played his part in retaining Premiership football for the Highlands.
“I am delighted to be here for another season. It’s a place where I have been happy for a number of seasons now and I am really looking forward to what lies ahead. This is an exciting new chapter for us all.” Keith said.
“It was great that we managed to secure Premiership football again for this season, but we want to kick on. We have really hungry people here and we want to improve on the last campaign.” He added.
Manager Malky Mackay commented “Keith is an experienced player that brings many attributes to the club. He is respected in the dressing room, reliable, and consistent on and off the field. In short, very professional, and someone that younger players can look up to and learn from. Keith will continue to be a good asset to Ross County FC and I look forward to working with him.”
Keith originally joined the Staggies in 2018 under Stuart Kettlewell & Steven Ferguson, to help the club gain promotion straight back to the top-flight at the first time of asking. As well winning the Championship trophy, Keith has also picked up an Irn Bru Challenge Cup winners medal.
