Ross County FC Hosts Family Fun Day for Children with ASN in Collaboration with D Gunn Funeral Home

Ross County Football Club is excited to announce a special Family Fun Day for children with Additional Support Needs (ASN) on Saturday, 23rd November at our home match against Motherwell, in collaboration with local partner D Gunn Funeral Home. The event aims to provide a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment for families, creating a memorable experience for children and young people with ASN in the Ross-shire community.

The Family Fun Day will take place at Victoria Park, home of Ross County FC, and will feature a variety of activities designed to cater to the diverse needs of the attendees. Highlights will include:

  1. Craft activities and entertainment from Fox & Friends to take place prior to the match
  2. Players and children to walk out with ear defenders to promote awareness of sensory difficulties
  3. Meet-and-greet sessions with Ross County FC players
  4. Sensory bags available for those who require

In addition to the fun activities, the event will offer an opportunity for families to connect with local support services, as well as professionals who work within the ASN sector. Ross County FC and D Gunn Funeral Home hope to create an inclusive atmosphere where all children can enjoy a day filled with laughter, fun, and community spirit.

Steven Ferguson, Chief Executive Officer at Ross County FC, commented: “We are incredibly excited to host this Family Fun Day for children with ASN, and we’re grateful for the support of D Gunn Funeral Services in making this event possible. At Ross County, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment both at the stadium and in the community, and we hope this event helps strengthen the bonds within our local area.”

Jim Murray, Director of D Gunn Funeral Home, added: “We are delighted be supporting the children’s fun day alongside Ross County Football Club which we hope the families and children can come together to enjoy, it is brilliant that the players are supporting this by wearing ear defenders too."

Fiona Campbell, organiser of the day, commented, "After the success of last year I am excited to run this event again, with a focus on supporting our more vulnerable children. Our children are at the heart of our community and I hope this is an event where families and children can come together from across the area to enjoy the day! Thanks to D Gunn Funeral Home and Ross County for your support to make this event happen."

This Family Fun Day is part of Ross County FC’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to enjoy a day of fun and friendship.
