Show Racism the Red Card

22/10/2021

This weekend is the annual Show Racism the Red Card weekend of action. In addition, we have been supporting the SRtRC ‘Month of Action’ that has been running across October with lots of informative graphics about eradicating hate crime which are available on our social media channels.

In the lead up to this weekend, Club Captain Keith Watson has shared this message:

“Campaigns such as Show Racism the Red Card can only do so much. It is up to us all individually and collectively to take positive, meaningful and forward-thinking steps to fight against not just racism but all forms of hate crime in our society.”

“Football has a unique place in society and should be used as a way to promote the anti-racism message as well as showing people how we can all play our part to do so. If we can encourage each individual to join us in supporting the fight against hate crime that gives us a real chance to make a positive difference and make every walk of life more inclusive and welcoming for all in society.”

“We, as a club, want to thank everybody who, like us, continues the fight against racism and who want to make a real difference- we are with you.”

During this weekends match at the Global Energy Stadium both Ross County and Livingston will take action to support Show Racism the Red Card. This will include wearing the Show Racism the Red Card t-shirts during warmups, having the Show Racism the Red Card badge on our match strip as well as participating in a pre-match raising of the card. There will also be an announcement from the tannoy about the importance of this weekend and promoting the anti-racism message.

Ross County thanks everybody in advance for their support of this weekend’s action and the continued effort to stop racism and hate crime in society.
