Stones joins Staggies

Striker Josh Stones has become Ross County’s second addition of the January transfer window.
Joining on-loan from Wigan Athletic in the English Championship, Josh joins to add competition in the forward area of Malky Mackay’s side for the remainder of the campaign.
Stones made his first team debut for Wigan earlier this season and is a highly regarded prospect young prospect for The Latics. Josh has also tested himself in men’s football with Guiseley in the National League North where he made a number of appearances bring the young striker to the eye of many clubs.
Stones’ performances earned him a move to Wigan Athletic in Summer 2022, and he has been subject of interest from English Premier League & Scottish Premiership sides in recent weeks.
On the signing of Josh, Manager Malky Mackay said, “Josh is a very promising talent that will add to our options at the top end of the pitch. He offers a different dynamic to what we already have, and he can play a big part in what we do between now and the end of the season.”
