Declan McManus played 80 minutes as his Falkirk side stayed in 3rd place in League 1 with a 3-0 victory away at Stranraer. Although not on the scoresheet, McManus now sees his Bairns side just 1 point of top spot in the league.
Ross Munro’s Raith Rovers are the team leading the pack in League 1 just goal difference keeping them ahead of East Fife and 1 point keeping them two places above Falkirk. It wasn’t a great day for Munro, who had to be replaced after 13 minutes with a shoulder injury. The goalkeeper will be assessed in the coming days and we will bring you a further update.
Joel MacBeath made his Montrose debut on Saturday. The striker played 54 minutes in a 2-0 loss away at Forfar Athletic. The match was a re-run of our Betfred Cup group from earlier this season where Forfar ran out 4-1 winners on that day.
Jack Murray was again on the end of an emphatic winning score line. His Buckie Thistle team cruised in to Round 2 of this seasons Scottish Cup with a 4-1 win over Edinburgh-based, Civil Service Strollers at Victoria Park. Playing the full 90 minutes Murray and co were rewarded with a 2nd Round tie away to Bonnyrigg Rose, who narrowly overcame Buckie’s Highland League neighbours, Fraserburgh in Round 1.
Declan Hughes watched from the bench as his Forres Mechanics side failed to make it in to Round 2 of the Scottish Cup. Suffering a 4-1 home defeat to junior outfit Banks ‘o’ Dee, the Mosset Park men failed to make it in to last nights 2nd Round draw.
James Wallace & Tom Kelly were without a fixture this weekend as their Brora Rangers team do not enter the Scottish Cup until Round 2. The Cattachs were drawn away to the winners of the Nairn County v Clachnacuddin tie which will be replayed this coming Saturday with the first match ending 0-0.
