MEDIA WATCH Dons digging deep

Derek McInnes has come in for some criticism in recent weeks however having now responded in the perfect way with 2 wins on the bounce, he and his Aberdeen side come to Dingwall in full confidence this weekend. With the Staggies having only lost twice in eight matches, its all set up for a cracking encounter at the Global Energy Stadium.

After a 4-0 home defeat to Celtic, some of the Aberdeen fans were beginning to question the team and Manager Derek McInnes. They responded with two big wins in 4 days firstly 1-0 away at Hamilton and that was followed by a 3-0 demolition of Angelo Alessio’s Kilmarnock at Pittodrie last Saturday.

Key Men

Sam Cosgrove

Has been a mainstay of the Dons attack in recent seasons and has an incredible scoring chart for the Granite City team. Cosgrove as well as posing a goal threat poses a physical threat to the Staggies defence with his tall, strong frame a handful for any defender in the league.

Greg Leigh

Was a big threat when the Staggies faced off with the Dons in August. As well as featuring for Derek McInnes as a full back, Leigh has also played in midfield for the Dons and has been a key man in wins against not just the Staggies but in recent wins over Hamilton and Motherwell.

Scott McKenna

Scotland international defender McKenna has been a very important part of the Aberdeen defence in recent seasons and a major part of their on-going top half of the table success. Having been paired with various centre back’s, McKenna has shown great maturity and composure in important fixtures in recent times.

Our Last Meeting…

The Staggies fell to a 3-0 loss at Pittodrie earlier this campaign. Goals from Leigh, Cosgrove and Hedges sealed the 3 points for Derek McInnes and inflicted a first away defeat of the season on the Staggies.
