First-team Physiotherapist (Full-time)

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ross County Football Club for a Physiotherapist to drive the delivery of sports medicine within this Scottish Premiership club. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all first team football related injuries and match cover home and away.

You must be HCPC registered as a Physiotherapist and have experience working with elite athletes and in a high-level sporting environment.

Reporting to the First Team Manager, you will work in conjunction with the first team staff and contribute to the continuation of the development and implementation of Ross County FC’s Long Term Club Strategy, with special reference to the needs of players to compete at the elite level of Scottish football.

First-team Physiotherapist (Full-time)

To lead and manage medical services based within Ross County FC in addition to making clinical, rehabilitation and operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Acute Intervention: To direct the injury management of all Ross County FC players with the aim of optimising the healing process.
  • Injury Prevention: Reduce the risk of injury occurrence with the development of appropriate screening and injury prevention strategies.
  • Rehabilitation: Design evidence-based protocols for return to full function of all Ross County FC players and allow them to compete at the highest level while minimising the risk of reoccurrence of injury.
  • Encourage an interdisciplinary approach of working within the department that includes close links to all areas of the club.
  • To maintain all legal and professional qualifications in relation to own profession and maintain the equivalent standards for all the therapists within the department.
  • To create relationships with players and coaches to support injury rehabilitation needs.
  • To ensure the latest clinical, scientific, and technical innovations to practice are incorporated into maintaining the highest level of care.
  • As part of the Sports Medicine Department provide emergency aid cover for both training sessions and matches.
  • To maintain detailed records for the department of all therapy care in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • To fulfil the role of a chartered physiotherapist in the assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of all injuries.
  • To create and implement systems and methodologies to evaluate the success of the department.
  • Having a clear sense of purpose to drive action and inspire innovation amongst all staff & players.
  • Set and maintain high standards of work performance and deliver quality consistently and efficiently.

Essential Criteria

  • BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Member of the CSP.
  • 5 years working experience as a Physiotherapy.
  • Sports First Aid qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – e.g. communication, team player.
  • Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a PVG check with Disclosure Scotland as part of the hiring process.

Desirable Criteria

  • Desirable but not essential MSC in physiotherapy/rehabilitation or sports science.
  • Desirable but not essential Scottish FA approved Advanced Pitchcare Course.
  • Scottish FA approved Sports First Aid Course.
